1. Check Your Owner’s Manual

First and foremost, it’s important to review the information provided by your tractor’s manufacturer in its owner’s manual. You’ll find recommendations for products to use with your tractor, as well as guidelines on what parts to replace and when. You can even keep track of the maintenance and repairs performed on your tractor in the owner’s manual for future reference.

2. Change Fluids

The various fluids in your tractor’s engine need to be replenished or changed on a regular basis. Check the oil often to make sure it isn’t sludgy; always change sludgy oil right away. Top off the coolant in your radiator and ensure that you have plenty of fresh gasoline and hydraulic fluid for your PTO.

3. Adjust Tires or Tracks

Whether your tractor runs on tires or tracks, you need to ensure that it has the mobility required to easily maneuver around your property. Tires should be aired up to the correct psi levels and have sufficient tread depth to gain purchase on muddy ground. Tracks should neither be too loose nor too tight, and they all need to be securely attached.
